The National Weather Service has issued a heat warning for all of Mississippi through next week. Daily heat indexes as high as 105-115 are expected. Stay cool, stay hydrated. Check on your neighbors, especially the elderly. Make sure pets and livestock have plenty of shade and water.

Senatobia-910 E. F. Hale Drive District 1-Floyd Road behind Hudspeth’s Grocery District 2-9164 Arkabutla Rd District 3- Second Street, Coldwater District 4 and District 5-Dumpsters will be placed at the Convenience Center at 22881 MS-4, Senatobia. This site will be open until noon on Saturday. Closed Sunday.
Parts of Arkabutla Road will be CLOSED in sections over the next two and a half weeks (July 7-24) for pipe replacements. Road closure will extend initially from Stage Road to Doc Woody. Other closures will be posted as additional sections are closed. This work is being done in preparation for asphalt overlay beginning in 2027.

Sandy Branch Road is CLOSED at the bridge until further notice due to a ruptured Strayhorn Water Association main. Contact Strayhorn Water Association for any updates or concerns.
All Tate County offices will be closed Friday, July 3 for Independence Day. The Tate County landfill will be closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday July 3-5. All county offices and the landfill will reopen Monday, July 6. Meanwhile, Tate County Fire, Ambulance, Sheriff's Office and 911 Dispatch will be open as usual 24 hours each day. Please do your best to let them have a peaceful holiday weekend.
Tate County Road Crews will be paving on Hogfoot Road and Brownlee Road Wednesday, July 1 and Thursday July 2. Expect slow downs and drive with care.
Tate County crews will be clearing roadside brush beginning Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19. Some of the areas included are Arkabutla Road from Post Office Road to Highway 3, Bend Road, Bundrum Road, and other nearby roads. Be alert for workers and machinery and be prepared to stop for short periods if you are driving in those areas.
