Tim Hale serves as the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and the Clerk of the Chancery Court. He took office in January of 2020. The Mississippi Code Annotated Section 9 Chapter 5 establishes the duties of the Chancery Clerk.

The Tate County Chancery Clerk’s Office is divided into three departments: Land Records, Court Records and Taxes (Delinquent Taxes). The departments are all located in the same office in the Tate County Courthouse.

Land Redemption Inquiries 

We are now accepting online Payment for Land Redemption/Delinquent Taxes .

The Chancery Court office helps provides assistance to attorneys and the public with court filings such as:

  • Domestic Relations (Child Custody/Visitation, Divorce, Termination of Parental Rights, etc.)
  • Adoptions
  • Mental Health Commitments and Drug/Alcohol commitment (voluntary and involuntary)
  • Department of Human Services support cases
  • Emancipation (declaring a minor to be 21 for work purposes)
  • Probate (Estates -intestate and testate estates, Muniment of Title, Conservatorships, Guardianships,
    Will Contest, Birth Certificate Correction, etc.)
  • Insurance settlements to minors
  • Name changes
  • Property disputes (over $50,000)
  • Property title confirmation

The Chancery Clerk’s office cannot provide legal assistance, but there are resources available to you.
These resources are provided as a convenience. Our office recommends that you hire an attorney to
assist you if you have any questions or need advice with your Chancery matter.

Filing Fees are set by statute according to Mississippi Code. The following types of payments are accepted; cash, check (no foreign checks), credit card and money order. Customers wishing to use a credit card will have to pay a 2.35% convenience fee. That fee is paid to the processing company directly and will show as a separate charge. If you wish to pay with a credit card, please contact our office by phone at 662-562-5661 Ext. 3.

Mississippi Electronic Courts (MEC)
All case information (except that which is sealed by the court) is available in our office or through Mississippi Electronic Courts (MEC). There are public terminals available for use in our office for those that do not have access to MEC
The Chancery Clerk of Tate County is the Custodian of Records. The Clerk’s office records all documents pertaining to real property:
  • Assignments
  • Deeds
  • Mortgages
  • Releases
  • Etc.
As well as all general instruments not necessarily related to deeds and mortgages:
  • Construction Liens
  • Federal Tax Liens
  • Lis Pendens
  • Military Discharges
  • Power of Attorney and Health Care Directives
  • Etc.

The Chancery Clerk is responsible for collecting delinquent taxes on properties that are sold at the County’s annual tax sale. We accept cash, credit card, check (no foreign checks), money orders, or certified checks. Funds should be for the exact amount due and made payable to the Tate County Chancery Clerk. If you wish to pay by credit card, there is a 2.35% convenience fee. Contact our office at 662-562-5661 to pay over the phone with a credit card.

Tate County maintains a copy of Land Records online. You can come into the office and use our free public terminals or you can register for a user ID on the website recordsus.myomnitech.com .

How do I obtain a copy of my final divorce decree?2025-05-27T08:31:32-05:00

If you would like a copy of your divorce decree, you can come into the office and use the public terminals to print a copy for .25 cents per page plus $1 for certification.  Or if you want the staff to print a copy for you, the cost is .50 cents per page plus $1 for certification. Requests can be mailed to Tate County Chancery Court, 201 S. Ward Street, Senatobia. Please include the correct amount for the document plus a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return.
