Still Need Help Recovering from Winter Storm Fern?
If you had damage from Winter Storm Fern and still need assistance, FEMA and SBA staff will be available in Harmontown for two days to answer questions and help with applications.
Location: Lafayette County Sheriff’s Harmontown Substation, 14 County Road 517, Como, MS 38619
Dates: Monday and Tuesday, June 8 and 9
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
No appointment necessary. Walk-ins welcome.
Whether you’re applying for the first time or need help with an existing application, staff will be available to assist.
The deadline to apply for FEMA assistance is Wednesday, June 10.

SBA – Low-interest federal disaster loans for uncompensated losses (whatever FEMA and private insurance do not cover).
Application deadline: June 10 for all physical disaster loans; Jan. 11. 2027 for working capital loans for small businesses and non-profit organizations. (There is a 60-day grace period for physical loan applications – Aug. 10.)
